I can be somewhat of a coward when it comes to political issues. Nevertheless, protesting in Seattle, experiencing Capitol Hill's autonomous zone, and connecting with others through BLM discourse, has had a big impact on me. The conversations have been the most positive thing I've seen come out of this tragic circumstance. Through these conversations, I was introduced to the work of Dr. Cornel West. I highly recommend checking out anything you can find of his. I listened to Race Matters on audio book (here's the Audible link) after watching this damn-near-perfect video, What Kept Coltrane's Horn Blowing. Anyway, I just sat down and started drawing one day: some from youtube videos, some from photos I took downtown. These are my favorites, click for full scale.
